Gabi Orosz

OIYP Kaleidoscope Event Coordinator

Gabi has held a long term genuine interest in supporting social justice and international development issues. This is partly driven by her extensive travel experiences in Asia, the Middle East and Central America.
These journeys highlighted the social, ethnic, economic and political differences around the world and instilled within me a passion and commitment to finding solutions to these inequalities.

Gabi’s commitment to these issues has been demonstrated by her voluntary work with community organisations including Amnesty International, Oxfam Australia and SAIL.

Since then Gabi has worked with a number of Australian and International non profit organisations in social justice and development. The last five years have been spent working with Oxfam Australia. During her career she has worked in sponsorship, fundraising and marketing, managing a diverse portfolio of fundraising and advocacy events.

She has also had first hand experience of development practice in both the Pacific Islands and India.

Five years ago Gabi joined Oxfam Australia in marketing department.

“During this time I was involved with OIYP in a voluntary role, assisting the media and communications unit in 2004. Being exposed to the program motivated me to become more involved in a greater capacity.

It was truly an inspirational experience being involved with this unique program, particularly seeing the incredible work of these remarkable, diverse young people who are helping improve their communities and regions.”
