Indigenous Homepage

The OIYP Indigenous Homepage has been developed to provide an informative and unifying point of contact for Indigenous youth throughout the world in their search for cultural furtherance whilst maintaining participation in the economic, political, technological and environmental developments that are embracing the globe.

This homepage is designed to grow and all feedback and suggestions are welcome on info@iyp.oxfam.org. Fitting in with IYP's overall vison of continuity, the Indigenous Caucus is an evolving body that had it's beginning at IYP2000, with a meeting of all its Indigenous delegates. It gave an opportunity for discussions on strategies dealing with issues arising during IYP2000's working groups to be further developed. This was to ensure incorporation of Indigenous perspectives into the IYP mission at all levels.

During IYP2000, Indigenous delegates made a Positive Impact Statement, giving insight into the needs of Indigenous individuals and groups throughout the world. The Indigenous Caucus strives for "unity and solidarity, common causes, seeking to MOVE TOGETHER with the youth of today for the BETTERMENT of humanity as a COLLECTIVE STRENGTH", whilst seeking to have Indigenous rights recognised and allowed for peaceful unifying coexistence with all other cultures of the world.
