Amy Davidson

Sustainable Development and Agriculture - Australia

As a Forestry student at the University of Melbourne, Amy developed her passion for the environment and sustainable forest management. Amy is a representative of the International Forestry Students’ Association, where she has been involved in organising the association’s first regional Oceania meeting. Last year, she also attended the United Nations Forum on Forests in Geneva, Switzerland as a Youth Representative.

Amy’s wants to raise awareness about the harm caused by unsustainable harvesting of forests and environmental resources, which will affect the health and wellbeing of future generations. Currently Amy is working on a joint project with Hanoi University in Vietnam to promote sustainable use of trees among farmers.

“Communication and education are the key to helping fight a lot of the world’s problems - from war to unsustainable use of resources - all of which stem from ignorance and misinformation”.
